Walking Holidays in England

England is a country in Europe and is part of a union with Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. All four countries are in the British Isles and are part of the UK.

Over 55 million people live in England. This is 84% of the population of the UK. It is a country with over sixty counties in it and the capital city is London, which is also the biggest city in the country. Other large cities in England are Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds. The English flag is a red cross on a white background. This cross is the cross of Saint George, who is the patron saint of England. Some other symbols used for England are a red rose and three lions.

New Experience Holiday’s offer a hotel to hotel trek in the North West county of Cumbria, home to some of England’s most spectacular scenery and the border county of Shropshire, one of Great Britain's last remaining idylls – see the listings below for details.
